The crisis that broke out yesterday in ECOFIN highlighted not only the need to reconsider the cyber security as a nessecity for the efficient and secure implementation of the DSM, but also the false perspective of some states about the role of countries like us, the Republic of Cyprus, Malta, Greece, Spain, Portugal and Italy in the DSM.

We stressed that these malicious rumours about our possible expel of the digital market were just rumours and they should remain so, since it destroys the unity of the DSM and our image and attractiveness as a country in the markets of investments. Unfortunately, we were right in this issue, as proven by the progress of the crisis, since the economies of Greece and Spain were said to had already been harmed and at the same time, the Eurozone area should face the devaluation of the Euro. Reacting with the appropriate calmness our committee managed to result in specific proposals for the confrontation of the problem, in which we were actively participated and agree. Some of the aforementioned files that were declassified and showed that there is no intention of expelling us from the DSM, so the markets were stabilised.

However, the most important is that the other states understand the progress that we have already made in the DSM, what we have offered and what the program loses by our absence, and so we managed to work harder on a more equal integration of the DSM within the states. Besides, no one can strike us out! We can leave if we want it, but we will not! The unity and the co-operation always win!
