The announcement of Anonymous‘s hack on a NATO satellite communication database and the discovery of the unofficial presence of France and German troops in the sensitive area of Crimea along with the Russian ones provoked different reactions on parliament’s members.

More specifically, an S&D representative stated that the presence of the troops does not necessarily indicate a negative interference, in the same spirit GUE/NGL’s representative of Germany characterized the attack as an unacceptable violation of international law and private rights while suggesting that the troops could have a humanitarian cause. The EPP’s members without questioning France’s and Germany’s loyalty and prestige called for a more detailed investigation of the subject and in case that the findings of the hack are real the countries involved must apologize and explain the reasons lying behind the troop’s presence on Crimea. ALDE’s president and France representative photographed Russian president Mrs. Vladimir Putin behind the hack and the synthesis of its component saying that it is not the first time that a Russian cyber attack is trying to cause instability and spread disunity among the EU’s countries. Lastly, ECR speakers also questioned the authenticity of the presented information.
