Day 3 – TRAN: The Crisis is still on the floor

The first session of the day started with an open debate about some previous topics. After that, MEPs voted for a moderated caucus with the topic: ‘Passengers’ Name Record’. The EPP believes that PNR is a great way to collect personal data in order to eliminate terrorists attacks. Te GUE party is totally opposite to this kind of control, because is violating the passengers’ privicy, but the S&D party did not exactly disagree. More specific, they believed that the European Union must pay more attention to the passengers from Third World countries and not only to European citizents. The ALDE party supported that the protection of the passengers is crusial, but the European Union should find a way to keep the personal and sensitive data safe.
The third moderated caucus was about the extention of previous topic. The S&D party hope for a better collaboration with the EPP next time. Moreover, another topic that occured in the session was about the tackling illegal migration and then the crisis came in.
BREAKING NEWS: Yesterday, there was a serious syber attack in a english ship nemed ‘Queen Mary II’ and the danger is still exists. Two Bulgrarians and one Syrian refuges arrested and they will be interrogated soon, but all the electronic devices in the ship are out of order. The MEPs decided to make a crisis update, which followed by a unmoderated caucus. The GUE party supported the collaboration between nations and goverments, but they said that nobody can suspect someone only by his nationality or religion, this is a violation to passengers’ rights and freedoms. The EPP talked about another aspect of the crisis: the fact that the ship is running out of fuels. The ALDE believed that the government should act quickly and send coast quards, but they were still skeptical behind the reasons of the arrest. The S&D was the voice of logic by saying: ‘Do not panic!’.
Finally, there was a unmoderated caucus between parties and the MEPs discussed more about the crisis.
