Just before the EUropa.S. Opening Ceremony was about to start, we had a chance to meet some of the International Trade MEPs, as they were lobbying. We asked for some statements and they were kind enough to accept. Alexandra Kritikou from S&D Party, representer of Sweden in INTA Committee was interviwed by a journalist of EU Focus Agency.
– First, please tell us your name, your country and the country that you represent.
-Hi! My name is Alexandra Kritikou, I belong to the S&D party and I represent the country of Sweden. My committee is the INTA committee
– Alexandra, could you please tell us why did you chose to participate in Europa.S. and what do you expect of it?
-For me, Europa.S. is something special, a new experience, and I believe it is an excellent opportunity for me to broaden my horizons and for my thought to reach a deeper level. I expect to meet people with experience in EU affairs and share my vision for a better Europe!
– You said that you belong to the S&D party. Could you please tell us something about your parties thesis?
-I believe S&D is the party EU needs right now. We have solid arguments and a lot of proposals for this year’s conference. We have solutions that we are going to amend and realistic views about the problems EU is facing in the modern era.
– Thank you, Alexandra, this was a great interview.

We also interviewed Iro Koukouzeli from GUE/NGL Party, representer of Italy in INTA Committee.
– So, you are also a member of the INTA Committee ?
-That is correct. My name is Iro Koukouzeli, I am a member of the GUE/NGL party and I represent Italy, one of Europe’s strongest countries!
– Italy has a big influence in Europe indeed! Could you please tell us why did you chose to participate in Europa.S. 2018?
-Well, I always wanted to participate in a simulation program, especially one about the European Union, as learning more about the EU is one of my top priorities. When I learned about Europa.S., I knew from the start that it was going to be a unique experience!
– What do you think about your party and its suggestions?
-You know, for me it is very easy to represent the GUE/NGL party, as my opinions and my party’s suggestions are pretty much the same. Let’s not forget that for both, my party and the European Union, human rights are one of the basic sectors of their policy. Europe must finally accept and adopt diversity for every country and every man alike.
